The second field of more than 1,000 entries at the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Summer Poker Open came down to six players who agreed to share the wealth and chop nearly $75,000 of the remaining prize pool.

Woodrow Pass (Tampa, FL) is declared the winner as he takes home $15,500, the guitar trophy and earns the $3,500 seat into the Championship Event (June 12-18).

Pass chopped with Manny Minaya, Cris Tuchman, Anthony Lee, Mohamed Maghraoui and Jacob Naumann as the tournament ended after four days of play, including three days worth of starting flights.

Pass was one of the big stacks that used their muscle to make the final table.  Pass was third overall to start Day 2, while chip leader Oliver Arcand finished in 10th place.

“I was stealing the blinds all day long,” said Pass, “I never went to showdown, but four times the whole tournament. And I never had higher than pocket tens the first day.”

Minaya, who started the day with a top 20 stack, was the first player to one million chips and rode the momentum to his third cash of the series. With this five figure score, Minaya has earned more than $18,000 at the Summer Poker Open and has two final tables.

Maghraoui and Tuchman also picked up their second final table appearance of the series. Maghraoui finished 9th in Event 2 (Big Stack Turbo), while Tuchman was 7th in Event 6 (Omaha H/L).

The 1,104 entries created $132,480 in buy-ins to easily surpass the $100,000 Guaranteed prize pool. 135 players returned for Day 2 with 110 making the money.

“100 times my buy-in is pretty good,” said Tuchman who entered the tournament once for $150.

“Not too bad at all,” said Pass, an entrepreneur who plays primarily tournament poker.

“I’m feeling great,” he added about his payday. “I’m going to do something with it, maybe get a new truck.”
